Focused on flavor
Raising animals for flavor is an art form that takes experience. In addition to close monitoring and careful pasture management, our secret sauce is the fertile Iowa soils that contribute to amazing flavor in the finished product.

Respectful
Animals were meant to live in nature, not a building. Our animals spend their lives on pasture. They have access to natural shade in the summer and protection from the elements in winter because comfortable animals are low-stress animals. And low-stress animals are healthier and happier, which makes for better meat.

Traditional
Our animals cross the landscape in the same way as the bison and other wildlife did for thousands of years. They graze a location, migrate to a new one, and don’t return until the land has fully recovered. This keeps our animals naturally healthy without antibiotics or wormers. The only supplements they get are minerals, salt, and beautiful scenery.

Seasonal
Just like you wouldn’t pick a fruit until it’s ripe, we don’t harvest our animals until they’re prime. We follow the seasonal harvest patterns used by Native Americans in this area to maximize flavor and nutrition.

Bold farms
Our meat comes from a collection of local farms that share priorities, practices, and a commitment to bringing you the best meat possible. It truly takes a village to provide the necessities of life.

A community of farms means you get more variety, more meat, and more health benefits. It means that we have a broader environmental impact and heal more acres of soil.
